Native British speaker in Havlíčkův Brod
English with Andy
I'm British, I live in the Czech Republic and I speak Czech — so I know where English trips you up and why. I teach in person in Havlíčkův Brod and online. Conversation, exams, business courses, kids. I have a textbook, but most of the time a good conversation does the job.
What to expect
I adapt the lessons to you, not the other way around.
Conversation
We talk about what interests you. The point is that you speak English — the rest follows naturally.
Exam preparation
FCE, CAE, IELTS — I know the format, I know the tricks, and I know where most people lose marks.
Business English
Emails, presentations, meetings — practical English for your team, tailored to your industry.
English for kids
Games, songs, stories. Kids learn without realising they're learning. That's the trick.
Why me?
English is my mother tongue
I didn't learn English — I grew up with it. You'll hear natural pronunciation, real phrases and idioms, not just textbook material.
I speak Czech, I understand your struggles
I've lived in the Czech Republic for years. I know where Czech speakers make mistakes because I know both languages. And I can explain it in a way that makes sense.
Lessons that won't put you to sleep
Work, travel, sport, culture — we talk about what interests you. Lessons aren't lectures. They're conversations where you also happen to learn something.
FAQ
What does the first lesson look like?
No test, no stress. We sit down, have a chat, and figure out where you are. Then we work out the best way forward.
Do you teach in person and online?
Both. In person in Havlíčkův Brod, online via Zoom or Skype from anywhere. It works equally well.
What levels do you teach?
All of them. From complete beginners to advanced. Everyone started somewhere.
What's the advantage of a native speaker?
You hear English as it's actually spoken. Natural pronunciation, current phrases and idioms — not just what's in the textbook.
